Hi, I’m Ian Sturgill.
I’m a recent PhD graduate in the UNC Bioinformatics and Computational Biology program under the joint supervision of Katherine Hoadley and Jesse Raab.
I have 12 years of academic research experience spanning a range of topics including:
- “Big data” bioinformatics (e.g., The Cancer Genome Atlas)
- Cancer genomics
- Immunology
- Microbial genetics
Other professional areas of interest include:
- Data science
- Language learning (proficient with R and Python; pursuing C/C++ and TypeScript)
